What is in the District of Columbia file

Each row is one request reviewed by the DC State Health Planning and Development Agency (SHPDA): the applicant, the project, the type of service, capital cost where stated, the filing date, the staff recommendation, the Director's decision and its date, conditions where printed, and links to SHPDA's documents. The largest groups are change of control or acquisition, home health, primary care, dialysis.

Coverage, stated plainly

Decisions back to 2016 come from SHPDA's yearly decision tables. Staff reports, capital cost and conditions are in the file mostly from 2021 on, when SHPDA began posting meeting documents online, and filing dates start in 2022. A DC FOIA request for the 2016 to 2020 staff reports and decisions and for SHPDA's letter of intent log went in on October 28, 2026.

• Most DC filings are changes of control, home health, primary care, dialysis and ambulance services, so the file keeps SHPDA's own categories.
• Where the Director's decision differed from the staff recommendation, the row says so.
• When SHPDA documents print different numbers or dates for the same matter, the row keeps both and names each source.
